Romy had a hearing test today at the Royal South Hants Hospital. Instead of going in a taxi I decided to wrap Romy up and take her in the buggy. It took us about 50 minutes to get to Hants. Romy had been looking forward to the hearing test, she had completed the same test back when we first arrived in Southampton. It involves inserting pegs into a hedgehog and placing wooden men in a boat each time she hears a sound, each sound being a different frequency. It also included a new game, that was placing penguins on ice blocks, which was very exciting. The initial findings are that Romy has lost some high frequency hearing due to her treatment so far. We left Hants and headed back to Southampton General. Romy was a bit bored now of being in the buggy so she made me run most of the way back. We did however slow down whilst passing through the Southampton Common, and we spotted a playground. I let Romy go on the swing very briefly, and she said “I forgot how fun this was” and “I could do this all day”. But unfortunately we had to get back.
