I found this photo on my phone from 4th October, the very first time Romy was poorly from this disease, although little did we know the cause at the time. On the 3rd October, just one day before this photo was taken, Romy had been at pantomime rehearsal at her dance school, and in the afternoon she had played at the playground. That was the last day our lives were completely normal. Then overnight she woke crying out in pain and now we know this was the first real sign of her tumour. Exactly one month later we arrived in Southampton on 4th November. Exactly one month later was Romy’s 5th Birthday, and here we are now on the 4th January reflecting on things having spent exactly two months in hospital and completing 6 rounds of chemotherapy. My poor little girl has been through so much and has such a long way to go and we will support her every step of the way.
